Explore this sacred text with one of the world's foremost scholars of the Book of Deuteronomy, and reflect on its enduring significance for Jews and Christians today.

Fr. Dominik聽Markl, a Jesuit priest from Austria, is Professor of Hebrew Bible/Old Testament at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome. His research focuses on the Pentateuch, imperial theologies in the ancient Near East, the development of monotheism, cultural trauma, and the Bible in the history of political ideas. His edited books include聽The Fall of Jerusalem and the Rise of the Torah聽(Mohr Siebeck, 2016) and聽The Decalogue and Its Cultural Influence聽(Phoenix Press, 2013).
